A new world image.

http://randy-segura.artistwebsites.com/featured/our-new-world-order-randy-segura.html I have never felt like I was some kind of person who could predict the future or anything, but I painted this almost six years ago, and the image content came out of me just like it does in all the paintings in this series. At the time I wasn’t sure what it all meant. But as time goes by, the content seems to make more sense to me. With the state of our world right now it seems to be a warning, as well as a timeline of events. I could be wrong of course, but it’s the closest image I’ve done that seems to go with whats going on in the world today.

A mural to help change the world, Let’s occupy a wall now!

So I’ve been thinking about what I could do to help save the world from the obvious inequalities that seem to be happening more and more often. Here’s my thought: I am offering up my talents and skills at bringing people together. I want to find a wall where I can bring people together to paint a mural that will help us to visualize a better world. A community art project that will show people what it means to us as citizens to have an equal chance in this society. We all want a level playing field. The only thing is, I don’t have any idea what that image should be, and I’m not sure I have any desire to come up with that image alone. Where I come in is that I have the ability to transfer the image to a wall at any size we need it to be. I have the ability to paint it and to get people involved. Will you help me? Together I know that we can change the world, but I am a lone wolf, always have been. I believe in all that the disgruntled are shouting for, but I am a visual person I can best set forth my emotions and energies into putting a brush to a good cause. This is my cause, i know in my heart of hearts it is, and this is how i want to help spread the good word. Find me a wall, find me a building owner, I will make the call introduce myself and my idea. This is how I have been trying to change the world in my own little way for many years. For an example go up to north Denver and look at the content of the pieces I did up there. I believe in the idea that we all can facilitate change, and i have never asked for help finding a wall before. Right now I feel it is the right time, and Denver is the right place!
get at me if you have some ideas… let’s plot and plan together, let’s make some change occur by putting it in their face saying look, here is how we feel!

I think it’s interesting how my art process takes me from the basement where my computer is, to the garage where my studio is…the kids know I’m usually in one of two places…:)
